In Part 1 of a two-part blog series, I explore the imbalance between training demands and recovery within the tactical population. I reflect on my experience working with Navy SEALs and examine recent evidence highlighting the health and performance consequences of chronic under-recovery. In Part 2, I address the existing gaps in support systems and advocate for policy changes that aim to improve the health, career longevity, and quality of life for our nation’s tactical athletes.
